How Good Is AMD Ryzen 7 5700G in 2023? Short Topic Answer

AMD Ryzen 7 5700G is AMD’s new fifth-gen CPU and it’s only 1 year old. With 8 cores and 16 threads, this CPU is more than good for every kind of use. With the GPU shortage, You can defiantly use it as an APU until you upgrade to an external GPU since this CPU has a very good Vega 11 GPU integrated.

Keep reading this post and find out everything you should know about this CPU below.

Is AMD Ryzen 7 5700G Good For Gaming?

Is AMD Ryzen 7 5700G Good For Gaming in 1080p?

The first benchmark that I did with the AMD Ryzen 7 5700g is in the resolution that is probably the best when it comes to the CPU benchmarks in gaming – 1080p.

In 1080, your CPU needs to perform as well as the graphics card in order to get the best performance. if the GPU is much stronger, you will probably see a bottleneck and drop in the performance.

To get the most out of Ryzen 7 5700g, I will pair it with the strongest graphics card on the market – Nvidia RTX 3090.

I benchmarked them in 5 different popular games, so you can take a look at the ones that you like the most.

As you can see in the table, every game that I tried was Maxed out, because this CPU is capable of that when paired with a graphics card this strong.

In all 5 games that I tested fps Average fps was around 100fps, which is more than good considering the graphics preset that I used.

Have in mind that you don’t need the graphics card this strong to get these types of results, since the RTX 3090 is overkill for the 1080p resolution anyways. You can do just fine with some mid-range GPU instead.

Take a look at the table yourself.

Specs: AMD Ryzen 7 5700G, Nvidia RTX 3090, 32Gb DDR4, 1TB SSD AVERAGE FPS 1% LOW FPS
Assassins Creed Valhalla (Max settings - 1080p) 82 fps 42 fps
Days Gone (Max settings - 1080p) 104 fps 67 fps
GTA 5 (Max settings - 1080p) 95 fps 76 fps
Horizon Zero Dawn (Max settings - 1080p) 104 fps 84 fps
Fortnite (Max settings - 1080p) 117 fps 73 fps

Is AMD Ryzen 7 5700G Good For Gaming in 1440p?

The second benchmark was done in the resolution which is the sweet middle for most gamers – 1440p. In 2k resolution, you can get the right mixture between performance and video quality.

Once again, I used Nvidia RTX 3090 for the test, so considering that 1440p is a little bit more GPU oriented, you may get these framerates if you have a weaker GPU.

As in the last benchmark in 1080p, I once again tested Ryzen 7 5700g in 5 games, and all of them were once again on the Maximum graphics preset.

If you take a look at the table below, you can see that every game that I tested in 1440p averaged far more than 60fps. The gameplay felt smooth and every game looked beautiful.

This just shows you that this processor is capable of pairing even with the best graphics card out there. Take a look at the table!

Specs: AMD Ryzen 7 5700G, Nvidia RTX 3090, 32Gb DDR4, 1TB SSD AVERAGE FPS 1% LOW FPS
Assassins Creed Valhalla (Max settings - 1440p) 76 fps 50 fps
Days Gone (Max settings - 1440p) 95 fps 52 fps
GTA 5 (Max settings - 1440p) 84 fps 65 fps
Horizon Zero Dawn (Max settings - 1440p) 92 fps 65 fps
Fortnite (Max settings - 1440p) 104 fps 66 fps

How Good Is AMD Ryzen 7 5700G In Gaming – APU Test

Most of the people that are reading this article came just for this part below. The biggest advantage that AMD Ryzen 7 5700g have is its Integrated Vega 11 graphics card.

In the last year or two, the GPU market skyrocketed and the prices were much higher than they used to be. That whole situation made us think of the alternatives for the cheaper builds that can actually run video games and other programs.

A lot of people decide to look up APU processors and upgrade in the future when the GPU prices settle down. If you are in this position, don’t worry. I will test the Vega 11 integrated graphics card in some popular games and you will have a clear image of how good this CPU actually is for gaming without an external graphics card.

As you can see in the table below, I paired this CPU with 16Gb of DDR4 3200Mhz RAM and it did pretty well in most of the games. Although the fps might seems low, you can always switch to the 900p or 720p instead of the 1080p resolution that I used.

I can definitely tell that this CPU is capable of gaming and if you adjust your graphics settings the right way, you will have a good experience.

Take a look at the table yourself!

Specs: AMD Ryzen 7 5700G, 16Gb DDR4 3200Mhz AVERAGE FPS 1% LOW FPS
Grand Theft Auto V (Normal settings - 1080p) 71 fps 61 fps
Resident Evil 3 (Low settings - 1080p) 43 fps 32 fps
Battlefield V (Low settings - 1080p) 48 fps 36 fps
The Witcher 3 (Low settings - 1080p) 45 fps 40 fps
Metro Exodus (Low settings - 1080p) 37 fps 24 fps
Fortnite (Low settings - 1080p) 92 fps 79 fps
