To help you see the difference between these resolutions and the results, I tested RTX 3070 in the same 5 popular games in every resolution.

How Good Is RTX 3070 For 1080p Gaming?
The First Resolution I tested Nvidia RTX 3070 is of course 1080p. In 1080p Graphics card needs help from the processor to achieve good results. Like in other tests, for 1080p I used AMD Ryzen 5 3600.
Since this CPU is a budget option, you will get an image of how good this GPU is when it’s not paired with the most expensive CPU.
As I said, I tested 5 games. Every game that I tested was on Ultra and Max settings which will increase GPU usage and make it work harder.
You can see that all 5 games averaged more than 60 fps, which is pretty good considering that Ryzen 5 3600 isn’t the best CPU out there and all games were on Ultra Graphics Preset.
In every game, I experienced smooth gameplay. The game that averaged the least is Cyberpunk 2077, but it’s well-known that this game isn’t optimized well.

How Good Is RTX 3070 for 1440p Gaming?
The second resolution that I tested is 1440p. In this resolution, both GPU and CPU need to perform well in order to have great results, but the graphics card is a little bit more important.
As you can see in the table below, I benchmarked RTX 3070 in the same 5 games with the same Ryzen 5 3600.
This time, out of 5 games that I tested, only one averaged under 60 fps. Once again the game with the lowest average fps was Cyberpunk 2077.
In all games, I got pretty much excellent results and I enjoyed playing them. The gameplay was smooth and the graphics quality was amazing since all games were on 1440p Ultra settings.
The highest fps was in Battlefield 5, which can easily achieve 144+ fps if you lower your video details.

How Good Is RTX 3070 for 4k Gaming?
Maybe the most important resolution for a majority of the people is 4k, because everyone that is spending this much money on a graphics card will want to try all games in 4k for sure.
In this resolution, the graphics card is doing most of the job, so Ryzen 5 3600 won’t have that much importance.
As you can see in the table below, I kept these 5 games on Ultra graphics settings in order to get the full potential of the RTX 3070 itself.
This time I was surprised with the results. RTX 3070 absolutely showed how good it actually is. All 5 games that I tested were more than playable and smooth through the entire gameplay.
Although some of them didn’t average more than 60 fps which isn’t even that important, I’m more than satisfied with how the gameplay was.
In the Shadow of the tomb raider and Battlefield 5, RTX 3070 and Ryzen 5 3600 performed the best, which is expected since these two games are optimized well for the newest technology.
