AMD RX 6600 XT Is AMD’s best graphics card from the last year that was made for 1080p gaming. Although there are better models, AMD RX 6600 XT is just a phenomenal value when it comes to 1080p gaming. You will be able to run any game on 1080p max settings if you pair this GPU with a good processor.

If you are reading this article, you are probably wondering how good this graphics card is in gaming. Although you probably know that this GPU is capable of gaming considering the price and the specs, I will try to test it with a CPU powerful enough in 5 different games in 1080p, 1440p, and 4k resolutions.
The CPU I will use for these benchmarks will be AMD Ryzen 5 5600x, which is one of the most popular processors from the new fifth-gen AMD CPUs.

How Good Is AMD RX 6600 XT For 1080p Gaming?
For the first benchmark, I tested the AMD RX 6600 XT in the most popular resolution – 1080p. If you read the rest of this article, you should know that this graphics card is literally made for 1080p gaming, so we should expect to see it perform really well in the games that I tried.
As I said, I paired Rx 6600 XT with the AMD Ryzen 5 5600x, which is capable of showing us the real power of this GPU. Of course, If you pair this graphics card with an even better processor, you may get a few more fps, but Ryzen 5 5600x will do the job good too.
As You can see in the table below, every game that I tested averaged more than 100 frames per second, which really shows us how good AMD RX 6600 XT is in 1080p resolution.
You may notice that every game was on Ultra or on Max settings, which loads the GPU even more.
Gaming at a higher refresh rate is more than possible if you have a suitable processor. All you have to do is to adjust your settings the right way and you can even hit the 144fps+ in AAA games.
E-sports games are more than easy to run for this GPU, which will make your experience good even on the professional level of gaming.

How Good Is AMD RX 6600 XT For 1440p Gaming?
The second benchmark that I did with the AMD RX 6600 XT was in the 1440p resolution, more known as the 2k. Once again, I didn’t change the games that I played or the graphics settings, so you can see the difference between the results easily.
Ryzen 5 5600x once again covered the CPU role well, even tho the processor isn’t that much important in 2k resolution.
Although the AMD RX 6600 XT is a GPU for 1080p gaming mostly, you can easily enjoy the 2k resolution with this graphics card too.
In all 5 games that I benchmarked, I got more than 60 frames per second on average.
If you consider the settings that I tested these games on, you will notice the power this GPU has.
You can achieve even higher fps if you adjust the settings to Medium or High, which won’t make your games look that much worse since the 1440p resolution is good-looking even on low settings.

How Good Is AMD RX 6600 XT For 4k Gaming?
The last benchmark that I did was in 4k resolution. Although the AMD RX 6600 XT has enough power to handle the 4k gaming, you probably won’t enjoy the experience as much as you would enjoy it with a better graphics card.
Once again, the same 5 games, same settings, and the same Ryzen 5 5600x were used, but this time the fps of 4/5 games averaged less than 60fps.
The fps were low in most games because every game was either on Ultra or High settings, which makes the job much harder in 4k resolution.
If you lower the settings to Low or medium, you will probably get every game to average more than 60 fps, which is more than good for 4k resolution.
Have in mind that 30 fps in 4k is much more smooth and fluid than 30 fps in 1080 resolution.

The best processor that you should pair with the AMD RX 6600 XT is Ryzen 7 3700x. This 8 cores and 16 threads processor is more than capable to support and get the most out of the RX 6600 XT. Since you will probably use this GPU for 1080p gaming, Ryzen 7 3700x will be more than good for your needs.

Is AMD RX 6600 XT Future-Proof?
AMD RX 6600 XT is definitely a future-proof graphics card. Considering that this graphics card is released in mid-2021, it will be good for use probably for another 5 years. Although it “only” has 8Gb of GDDR6 memory, Rx 6600 XT will be good for most people for a long time ahead.
