How Good Is Nvidia GTX 960 in 2023? GPU Revisit
Introduction
Today, 8 years after its launch, I tested Gtx 960 4Gb and I have results. I’m answering the questions – How good is Gtx 960 and is it still usable in 2023.
Short Topic Answer
As time passes, GTX 960 is getting worse which is expected from a GPU that is 8 years old. With Gtx 960 you can expect a solid experience in 1080p & 720p on low-medium settings, but everything higher than that is not possible. If you already own GTX 960, you should wait until prices drop and upgrade
Basics Information About GTX 960 4GB in 2023
The Nvidia Gtx 960 is released on January 22, 2015, and back in the time, this graphics card was very decent for 1080p gaming.
Despite that, this GPU had plenty of competition in its price budget. There were Amd Radeon R9 285 and R9 280X that were around the same price range or $10-15 dollars cheaper than Gtx 960 4GB.
Gtx 960 4Gb was a new Maxwell GPU that was made to be a low-power mid-range GPU, but it never reached the maximum potential, either because of high competition or there were better choices for a little bit more money.

What Is The Best Intel Processor For Nvidia GTX 960?
If you decide to choose Intel for your platform, which is totally ok because I’m an Intel fanboy as well, you should go with a Haswell or Skylake i5. Both are fine and you should choose the cheaper one.
The cheapest one is coming from Haswell, i5 4590 is a great processor for GTx 960 if you don’t want to overclock your CPU. Combine it with H97 motherboard and you have a cheap, affordable system that will be good with Gtx 960.
A more expensive variant is (Skylake) Intel i5 6600. Combine this CPU with a solid H170 motherboard and ddr4 ram and you will have a good configuration after you upgrade to the stronger Graphics card.
What Is The Best Ryzen Processor For Nvidia GTX 960
